      European constitution versionsOn 29th of October 2004 the representatives of the 25 members of the European Union decided to create a constitution for Europe. It was later ratified by 18 member states. As it was rejected at the referenda in France and in the Netherlands, the ratification process was stopped.
      Some years later it was replaced by the Lisbon Treaty on the 1st of December 2009.
